About Fiona
Fiona is a Mediator, controlling a process whereby discussion is facilitated in the aid to assist families resolve Family Law disputes. Fiona established Family Law Mediation SA in 2017.
Fiona’s journey to Mediator started with a career as a Family Law Solicitor. She would often see power imbalances between a separated husband and wife impact negotiations; imbalances driven by cultural, social, family violence or financial factors. To address these in her Mediation process, before agreeing to be engaged with a family, she takes each participant through an individual and confidential screening, and often will work collaboratively with other like-minded professionals (psychologists, financial neutrals, lawyers), to ensure a process can be tailored where both parties have the capacity to negotiate freely.
Fiona is the wearer of many well-worn hats, a Mother, Lawyer, Collaboratively Trained, a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner and Nationally Accredited Mediator. She has been listed as a Preeminent Mediator in Doyles’ Guide listing of South Australian Family & Divorce Mediators in consecutive years. And, is the South Australian representative on the Australian Institute of Family Law Mediators and Arbitrators Board.
She values down time with her young family, always striving to achieve the impossible balance in home and work life (which she is unapologetic for!) You will typically see her running (wearing corporate casual and kicks) to collect the children from school (at least 3 days a week is the goal), aiming to switch mode once home and put the phone and laptop down!
As the wonderful sister to Elleni, everbloome Founder, Fiona is a life-time friend of everbloome. She is a standout in her field and her approach to mediation is essential in achieving gender equality. Who better to be inspired by than your sister! Thank you, Fiona, for your support.
